No sooner does psychic Lottie Baldwin pull up stakes and move to Cheyenne, North Dakota, than she finds herself up to her neck in a series of mysterious robberies. Can Lottie and the handsome new man in her life, deputy sheriff Harlan Erikson, solve the crime spree before Lottie becomes the next victim?

The third book of the Lottie Baldwin mysteries, Madame Carlotta aka Lottie moved to Cheyenne to separate herself from her ex- boyfriend, Jack. On her way she met deputy Sheriff Harlan Erikson and thus begins a new dawn for Lottie.
When a series of mysterious robberies began to haunt the residents of Cheyenne, Lottie’s premonition might lead them to answers, that is if only she is not silenced before she tells.
Only a short read, Lottie seems to be a magnet for crimes and troubles, her psychic abilities, whether you believe it or not, has helped her more than one occasion. Could she decipher it in time before the robber robs her of something precious?
I had no problems reading this as a standalone, and if you like short mysteries, Madame Carlotta is entertaining and full of life.
Fallen Redemption Author: RB Austin Publisher: Soul Mate Publishing ISBN-13: 978-1619354623 Genre: paranormal romance Series: The Trihune Series: Book 1 Cover and Link from Amazon Synopsis from Amazon: Cade committed himself to saving lives before he learned the full consequences of his life-altering decision. It wasn’t until he was tending his sick wife that he learned the enormity of what he’d done and he was unable to save her from the monster he had become. Consumed with guilt and praying for absolution, he threw himself into killing every Fallen he could find to save the humans he’d sworn to protect. But then Emma, deliciously mortal and completely forbidden, swept into his world, stirring an overpowering desire. Now he’s not only fighting soulless creatures, but also his inner cravings, trying to maintain his distance and continue on his path to forgiveness. He can’t afford to lose control again and sacrifice another love.
1729, Caderyn O’Cearnaigh of Llangwyllog was turned into a Behn when the smallpox struck their little town, taking the lives of his children. That was a long time ago, now, Cade is a leader of Sept One Behnshmas, charged to to protect humans (The Followers) from Apollyon’s Fallen.
Then in present day, Emma found herself swept into Cade’s life, confused and frightened after the attack. Both characters find themselves stumbling their way into a relationship. Cade is someone or something that was charged to protect humans from the dangerous world of Fallen, soulless things that only know how to hurt and consume.
Although the story line is nothing new, the characters and the careful planning helps establish a unique combination that manages to keep me interested. First we have Cade, a mess of a man, someone riddled with guilt and self- loathing after what had happened to his first wife back in 1729. When he met Emma, a beautiful person inside and out, his protective streak comes flaring back. This causes some conflict and it was fun to read, the supportive characters were there to cause more trouble. In the end, Fallen Redemption is not just a story about good versus evil or the fight to protect mankind from evils of Apollyon’s Fallen. This is a story about love and forgiveness, and how a person’s trust can change course of things.
There are a few characters in the book given to me by the author for a fair review, I appreciate that I was given Fallen Redemption as I will be reading Fallen Darkness soon.
A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird) Author: Claudia Gray Series: Firebird 1 Publisher: HarperTeen ISBN-13: 978-0062278975 Genre: adventure, sci-fi, romance Cover and Link from Amazon Synopsis: Marguerite Caine is on a mission with her friend Theo: to find her father’s killer and thief who had absconded with Firebird, a device that her parents had created to make dimension jumping possible.
I have mixed feelings about this Firebird series. I may have had higher expectations because of a few good reviews. Marguerite Caine started on a journey to find her parent’s research assistant who had stolen a very important invention called the Firebird.
The story narrates in first person point of view, and begins with an introduction to keep the readers abreast of the situation at hand. Marguerite is the artist in the family of scientists. Her parents believe in multiple dimensions and had managed to create a device that could enable a person to jump from on dimension to another, as long as that dimension had another version of ‘self’.
That’s not the spoiler, just the setting of how Marguerite came to be chasing Paul, the guy whom she was told to be the bad guy. Right from the start it was an eye roll for me. Marguerite did not question, neither there were concrete proof that it was Paul who killed her dad. Mystery aside, the pressing question was how to catch Paul.
Marguerite is a gullible person, smart but so trusting, she makes the story interesting with her internal argument, questions and reminiscing about the good times. But I had my doubts about her capability from the start. There were certainly hints and events that were obvious to me, but I guess Marguerite doesn’t think much about the past, only the present and the future when she gets her hands on that traitor.
I am intrigued, but at the same time slightly disappointed with the characters, they were predictable. The story arc was plotted. and the surprise element was not really ‘surprising’ for me. Maybe I have read too many of these books that it ceases to amaze me.
If you like a sweet romance with some adventure, then Firebird series is a good start. I don’t mind the different worlds and different versions of the same person. But I do question the legitimacy of jumping into someone’s body, taking over as consciousness is easy to transport.
The most romantic thing about this book is the argument that fate is real, destiny is real, but I think it was predetermined by the author when she wrote the book. I hear the next book is good, so I might stick around to the end.
Privileged, wealthy, and wild: they are the Perfect Gentlemen of Creighton Academy. But the threat of a scandal has one of them employing his most deceptive—and seductive—talents… Recruited into the CIA at a young age, Connor Sparks knows how dirty the world can be. Only when he’s with his friends can he find some peace. So when an anonymous journalist threatens one of the Perfect Gentlemen, Connor vows to take down the person behind the computer, by whatever means necessary—even if it means posing as his target’s bodyguard. Publishing a tabloid revealing Washington’s most subversive scandals has earned Lara Armstrong the ire of the political scene—and a slew of death threats. To keep herself from ending up a headline, Lara hires a bodyguard, a man as handsome as he is lethal. When the bullets start to fly, Lara is surprised to find herself in Connor’s arms. But as they begin to unravel a mystery that just might bring down the White House, Lara is devastated when she discovers Connor’s true identity—and finds herself at the mercy of forces who will stop at nothing to advance their deadly agenda.
“What belongs to me? Be specific. I want the words.” “My pussy belongs to you. I belong to you. No matter what I do, I know I belong to you. I love you. I love you so much, Connor.” She poured her heart into those words, willing him to believe her. “And I belong to you. No matter what I fucking do. You remember that. You take those words and memorize them because no matter what happens, they’re true and they’re going to stay true. I won’t let you take them back. Ever.” She wouldn’t want to. “I love you.” “That means everything to me, princess.” He withdrew his fingers and gripped her hips. She felt his erection probe between her thighs. “I’ve never wanted anything the way I want you. Remember that, too.” She couldn’t reply because the head of his cock breached her in one hard thrust. He didn’t ease into her or give her time to adjust. He gave her every inch he had, holding her hips and forcing himself inside her. She was invaded and dominated. He controlled and conquered. A shock of tingles rolled through her body. She whimpered. “Push back against me,” he commanded. She thrust back and tossed her head at the feel of him sliding in to the hilt. It was almost too much. He held himself steady, and his left hand slid up to her breasts. He shoved the bra above her mounds and cupped her as he pulled out and stroked back in. He thumbed her nipple then gave it a twist. “Never again, Lara. I swear to god if you lie to me again, I won’t be responsible for what I do to you. I’ll tie you to the bed and I won’t ever let you leave again. Your whole life will be about taking my cock. You won’t see the fucking outside world. You’ll spend every day on your back and your knees and any other way that pleases me.” She found him endlessly amusing when he was angry. Somehow she couldn’t see him actually turning her into a sex slave, but she was sure in the moment it seemed like a viable option to him. He twisted her nipple again, and a pleasurable pain shimmered through her. She responded before he could do it again. “Yes, Connor. I won’t see the light of day. I understand.” “I’ll chain you to me, Lara.” He anchored his hands back on her hips as he thrust in and out of her body in rough, rhythmic strokes. “I won’t let you leave my sight. Fuck, you feel so good.” She let her head fall back, giving over to the euphoria of having Connor inside her. He was so big. When he filled her, she always had a moment when she wasn’t sure she could handle it, but she ached to try. And once she succeeded in accommodating every inch of him . . . She groaned. There was nothing like it. There was certainly no one like him. He caressed every bit of her skin that he could reach, her breasts and her belly, the curves of her waist and hips, before he found her clitoris again and strummed it—fucking her with force all the while. Lara pressed back against him. If she hadn’t, the strength of his thrusts would have sent her headfirst into the wall. Still, he didn’t hold back. He simply picked up the pace and she moved with him. The push and pull of his strokes formed a rhythm she sank into. Over and over his cock sank deep before he dragged back out, sensitizing her flesh and drawing her to the edge. She groaned as he toyed with her clitoris in earnest now. “I can’t hold out. You feel so good. You’re so hot and tight around me. Come for me, princess.” ABOUT SHAYLA BLACK: Shayla Black is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than forty novels. One thing I like about Lexi Blake, she can write alpha males well (sorry Shayla Black, I haven’t read you before.) Connor Sparks has to play bodyguard to Lara Armstrong, the owner of Capitol Scandals that runs political scandals. When Lara received death threats, her senator father got her a bodyguard.
A real hunk of a bodyguard.
Connor Sparks has a history, it is known from the beginning that he had brains, and was part of Perfect Gentlemen, the odd one out in the group. He had done well with his life even though he was given the shorter deck. Now, one of his friends is in trouble with CS, Connor wants to make sure nothing bad happens to him. He would employ all his skills to get what his wants, hence Seduction in Session.
When Lara realizes that things are more serious than they seem, Connor seems to be there for her, acting as her bullet proof shield, looking after her every needs. What would happen if she finds out who Connor really is? Is Connor really just a bodyguard she had come to trust?
The action and the tension aside, Seduction in Session is explosive in many ways that makes a girl go wild. Who does not want a man who can look after a girl well, someone who loves as fiercely as he protects. I am in love with Connor, even though he is a fictitious character. I wonder if Taylor Lautner is a suitable guy to be casted, or it was more like Bruce Willis when he was like 20 years younger?
I have to recommend this, I love the fact that it is not too mushy for me, Lara is a strong girl, and her strength can really make you wonder if it was stubbornness or she’s just being an idiot, however, it does make entertaining read. Definitely a hot action type romance story.
The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham (2015-11-05) Author: Rosalie Ham Publisher: Serpent’s Tail; edition (2015-11-05) ASIN: B0182QA7LU Cover and Link from Amazon My Synopsis: Myrtle “Tilly” Dunnage returns home to rural Victoria after being banished from Dungatar over an incident. Now she returns with a sewing machine to look after her ailing mother. Some things never do change, and Tilly’s return sparks new changes, would the town’s people like it?
This is the one i got from library, the older version before Kate Winslet starred in the movie that made this book famous overnight. I am sure that the older cover fit the description better than Kate’s dress. I recall a beret, but Kate’s look is more stylish in today’s sense.
Both covers are pretty nice.
This book is marvelous and I was engrossed with the book it was hard to put down. Tilly’s return to a small rural town of Dungatar was the talk of the small town. First I thought it would be boring, with Tilly returning to look after her ailing mother, and soon would be on her way.
But when Tilly starts making dresses, it is as though magic had arrived in that small town and transformed everyone into haute couture wearers in the span of a week. Petty and gossipy as always, the people can’t decide if they want Tilly back, or they want her to leave.
Pretty soon, history starts catching up to the town, and everyone wants a piece of Tilly’s sewing, but all Tilly wants is retribution. Amidst all the gossip and back stabbing, there is love and friendship(?).
The ending was the best part, I loved it. It was surprising yet caught between “deserving” or “brutal”. It does depend on your point of view. But I think it is justifiably brutal, but hell it was satisfying,

Prince Brat has been toying with my La Roche Posay so much that my bottle almost ran out in a span of few days. That and the fact that it’s summer and the sun has been scorching, and we have been slipping, slopping and slapping our way before even daring to step outside the house.
For those who do not live Down Under, here is the infamous Sid the Sea Gull
That song is catchy, and it shows up every summer to remind people to avoid getting sun burned. This is the new version, you can look for older versions of Sid via Youtube, which is where I got this one from.
This one I got for around aud$16, a far cry from my La Roche Posay. I intend to repurchase it after Christmas when Priceline has their Post Christmas sale. So now this will have to satisfy Prince Brat’s lust to look young.
I am not a fan of pump packs, but I had to give it a go, they had me at “liposomal”. It is not exactly new technology, but I have only seen it in expensive medications so far, where it is created to target specific cells so deliver the medication. It has finally trickled down to everyday items, and I am excited.
The best thing about this is the feel of it, it does not have the greasy feel, as per advertised. Even La Roche Posay has that oily feel if you drop too much on it onto your skin. I guess the pump back does deliver the proper amount, but some parts of the body would require about 2 pumps. It feels exquisite, if you are a fan of silicone feel, it glides on and absorbs well, despite having some physical sunblock ( I think?) with the chemical ones.
Some odd reason, Prince Brat simply adores La Roche Posay, he simply isn’t interested in the Suntivity. Since he is too young to understand the question, I might have to find out the answer by using this myself.
If you are in the lookout for good sun screens, do give this one ago, I think you might be pleasantly surprised like I was
I have received theses are part of my BeautyHeaven trial team. There are the day and night cream, eye cream and essence, which is a thicker serum. On first look, the boxes are bronze and all shiny.
All three are priced at $69.99 aud each apparently. Which is good seeing that I did not have to pay for it. But Beauty Heaven demands a fair review from its trial team members.
All the products contain Juveleven™ (Juvefoxo™), but each product also has other ingredients that makes it unique and all complements each other rather than being a duplicate in different forms.
First, I have to use the Eternal Youth Luminosity Golden Essence, it is gold in color because of it has 24 karat gold together with Chromocare™, Resistem™, Lime Pearl™, Juveleven™ (Juvefoxo™).
I might not like the packaging or the fact that this pump does not dispense the same amount every time, but the product itself its good.
The essence is thicker than serum, but it goes on easy and absorbs quick. Two qualities that mean more to me in a serum.
Then we have the Eternal Youth Day and Night Cream. The cream has a good texture and smells nice. Being a Day and Night cream, it is not as heavy as the night cream alone, but nor as light as your normal day cream. This is good for me because it absorbs quickly enough without leaving residue. This is 2nd step recommended by the trial team.
The cream contains X50 Photoglow, Sensibright, and 24 karat gold on top of their signature Juvelen, and it is supposed to help with that radiant glow.
Last step is the eye cream, my favorite item in the list. Because of its cool metal applicator. The applicator dispense a little bit of the cream, unless you squeeze the tube for more cream. Applied twice a day, it is supposed to brighten the eye and lighten dark circles. I am happy with this eye cream, because not only it works, it doubles as a massager, even though the cream is not much, but I can lightly tap the applicator under my eyes.
I t is definitely an expensive set, but if it does go on special, it is worth having a go. Bear in mind that the improvement I had was the product of using all three as a regime. I cannot say for sure if it can be replicated with one product.
Since Christmas is coming, hopefully Dr Lewinn’s brings out Christmas packs with theses.
Directions Cleanse thoroughly. Apply a smooth film over face and neck avoiding the eye area. Leave on 10-15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry. Gentle enough for everyday use. Recommended for use in conjunction with Vit-A-Plus Illuminating Serum.
I bought this a long time ago, back when I still had the Spa Sanctuary mask, this is also from Strawberry Net, it is indeed a place that I enjoy purchasing from. This one was also on special and it had been sitting in my stash for a while.
Honestly, I think I prefer sheet mask a little more, because I am too lazy to rinse off now =( I much prefer sitting or lying down comfortably and let the mask work slowly as I concentrate on reading. But not many sheet mask can boasts even skin tones and other miraculous properties…
I have been using it almost everyday, or at least every two to three days, because I also have the sheet masks to go through. Nothing much in terms of effects, except during these hot summers my skin is not looking any patchy or redness, I guess that it works?
It is relatively easy to use, but I have not left it on for any longer than 10 minutes, I just had to look at the time frequently (another reason why I love my hydrating stuffs). I would recommend this if you are looking for something that is easy and good.

Said over his dead body. He says if anyone’s going to do it, it’s going to be him. I hate that I’m even considering his offer. But I am … I sooo am. Ever since he suggested it, all I can think about is his cocky smile on those full lips as he’s driving in to me. But if we cross that line … will I ever be able to go back? MONSTER PRICK, a sexy romantic comedy, is a spin off novella from SCREWED, but can be read as a standalone, as it features a new couple.
